Last one – promise!

There were quite a few desert flowers about, but not on a mass as happens after a good rain. A couple of these were in the Olive Pink Gardens where there is a fabulous collection of the native plants. There was a few of the fruiting plants doing their stuff out in the wild though. Above is the bush passionfruit which will turn quite a bright yellow. I’m told that the seeds are very fiery if you chew them despite it looking very similar to the domestic passionfruit inside. The bottom photo is the native fig, which seems to cling to life in all sorts of awkward places. I don’t think it gets much bigger than this – about the size of your thumb tip. The native orange wasn’t doing so well, and the only sign of fruit I found were dried and shrivelled up about the size of a sultana.
