Alice Springs again

So of course there was the compulsory camel ride as well! And a good way to finish this little journey to Alice Springs on the blog. One of my uni friends had a laugh at this picture saying that I looked like a Jilleroo - well little did she know that I did spend some time working in that job in Queensland many moons ago… No I didn’t tell her -she had a good laugh that was too joyous to distinguish! I used to ride a horse called Stranger, and he was a strange looking fellow indeed! He had the largest hooves you could imagine on a horse - the size of dinner plates and they were perched on the end of his long stringy legs - then the good size body which then stretched out with a neck like a giraffe ending with his very big head! But he was a wonderful if not very bumpy horse to ride. He died a year after I worked on the station - galloping like a wild thing through the paddock he tripped in a hole and that was it - down and out. There was lot of quiet difficult things about working on a cattle station, but it is one of my most valued experiences.
But back to Alice…

That’s a very sad story about your horse, Linden. BTW do you realise you’re being followed on that camel? Only joshing.
