Led Zeppelin – what a fabulous contribution to the music world they have made! An exhibition of photogrpahs and artwork related to their heyday is on show at the National Trust S.H. Ervin Gallery in Sydney. I have seen some interviews showing some of the photographs that are on show and they are really beautiful, intriguing and definately a poingnant look at the band and the era.
Next Sunday Robert Kennedy and his friends in the DiVerse poetry group are going to be present in the gallery to “interact & respond to the photographs & visual art, by creating dialogues and conversations through their poetry.” DiVerse are a very active group of dedicated poets who reguarly work with artwork as a stage for developing poetic verse and they have quite a strong following.
The National Trust S.H. Ervin Gallery is located on the Observeratory Hill, The Rocks, Sydney, and DiVerse are performing there at 3pm on Sunday the 24th.

Locally there is a new exhibition coming up at the Collville Street Gallery in Battery Point. Zsuzsa Kollo will have paintings on show from February 22nd with the official opening on the 24th. Gallery owner Trudi writes “Zsuzsa Kollo explores lost worlds of a poetic age of innocence and beauty, working with Byzantine colours, against rich patterns and ethereal landscapes, be it Carlton Beach or the backyard. The Child is central to our world and to us. The poised studies of youth are arrested in a revere of thoughts and emotions, play, laughter, the guileless nature of childhood caught in memories and time”.
You can view the exhibtion works online at the Colville Gallery website.
Raymond Arnold has a wonderful exhibition diary for the year at his gallery in Queenstown. LARQ is a studio/gallery situation where aritists can work and exhibit. With a special interest in natural environments this is an excellent location to work and centre the residency program.
Raymond’s website is still under construction, so there is not a huge amount of information available about the exhibitions, but there is an email contact and if your heading out to Queenstown then seeking out this gallery is highly recommended! I noticed a poster at university about it, so maybe when time allows I’ll make a note of the exhibitors and get back to it!
